Help Promote Literacy!
How to donate to The Flint Journal Newspaper In Education program.
Why donate to NIE?
Students who read at a young age are more likely to make a habit of it for the rest of their lives. Plus, reading newspapers in the classroom dramatically raises students reading levels and helps eliminate illiteracy. Many teachers would like to use The Flint Journal in their classrooms but cannot because of limited funds.
Benefits for students and teachers:
-
Each student will receive their own Flint Journal newspaper.
-
Teachers will receive curriculum material to teach with the newspaper.
-
Teachers are eligible for training on how to use newspapers in the classroom.
-
Students are eligible to participate in special projects and contests.
