About The Flint Journal

The Flint Journal is a daily newspaper circulated to homes in Genesee, Lapeer, Oakland, Livingston, Shiawassee, Saginaw and Tuscola counties. It is one of Michigan's eight Booth newspapers, all owned by Advance Newspapers.

 

The Journal is published every weekday evening; Saturday, Sunday and holiday mornings. The weekday edition is available on many news stands by 11:30 a.m.

 

Daily circulation of 83,814 with daily readership of 174,620

Sunday circulation of 101,590, with readership of 227,679.

The Community Newspapers

The Journal publishes eight weekly newspapers under the umbrella of The Community Newspapers: The Burton News, The Clio Messenger, The Davison Flagstaff, The Fenton Press, The Flint Township News, The Flushing Observer,The Grand Blanc News, and The Swartz Creek News.

 

The newspapers are delivered on Sundays as part of home-delivered Flint Journals and to non-subscribers in selected areas in Genesee County.

 

 

About Flint-Genesee County, Michigan

 

Flint is the fourth largest city in the state of Michigan and is located in Genesee County.

 

The area offers a state-of-the-art transportation infrastructure, five higher education institutions with a combined enrollment of more than 26,000 college students, and three medical care facilties: Genesys Health System, McLaren Region Medical Center and Hurley Medical Center. The Flint Cultural Center is home to nine major fine arts institutions that provide entertainment and education to more than 600,000 students, residents and visitors every year.

The Flint Journal published a section on Genesee County in the 20th century. It's still available online.

 

Flint's 150th Anniversary

The city of Flint celebrated its 150 anniversary in September 2005. The section is not available online currently.  The section's publication led to two follow ups: 'One-Fifty' only scratched surface of Flint memories, milestones and The One-Fifty, part II
